Every single skill in the game I've encountered so far has required you to select the skill then cast it. Even if it's something like flesh sacrifice you still have to cast it. This is not the case however with some of the Polymorph skills. Stuff like Spiders Legs and Medusa Head cast upon selection.
All it takes is one misclick to cost you the fight. Whether this is a bug or not it needs to be fixed.

You're right. Why does Spread Your Wings activate on select, but Chameleon Cloak requires a 2nd click? But it's not just Poly skills that activate on select. Defensive Barrier (Warfare) does too. \

Even without accidental clicks, just the inconsistency alone is annoying. I can never remember which skills are activated on single click.

It's ridiculous. I can't how many times I've thrown a fight because I had the misfortune to click on the wrong skill. It's an easy fix so I hope they'll come to their senses and fix it.

That is really easy to fix with a mod, or even manual changes to some of the game .txt files.
There is an entry for each skill "Autocast" "yes/no"

As a player, I like autocast skills, and extra clicks without any need makes me nerve ^^, but a toopltip about it would be great.
I feel like the flow of the game is slowed down too much because of "prepare" phase for each and every skill.

And as a modder, i can see why they did it.
One of main reasons - less animations and effects to do, and less "Oh, the same animation here again" feeling for players smile
Prepare animations are a nightmare to do, to make them look unique and express what is going to happen is not an easy task.

So while it is a really easy to fix with just 1 .txt entry (yes/no), making it look and feel properly requres alot of creativity and efforts.
