Hello everyone,

I recently played the Beyond Divinity demo and I liked it so much I went and got Divine Divinity. I'm loving it, but I need some help! Currently I am under Elrath's house looking for something. I am at the point where a big Djinn comes and attacks me. Problem is, he wastes me in a few hits. I am a level 8 warrior, is that to low? Any suggestion on what I should do? I am thinking I should leave the basement and go do other quests and level up. But will I still be able to get back into his house if I do so?

Thanks for the help!

That is a little low. You can level up and return later. The house will remain open until you find that something and leave with it (there are 2 somethings you should find).

If you drink a shadow potion and use your spin attack near (but not directly on) a creature, you will hit it without turning visible.

Level 8 is way too low to take on that Djinn. Little Spoiler (but not much):

You want to get into the room fast with some distance between you and the Djinn. There are at least 3 spells that will prevent or hinder the Djinn from attacking you... but, at level 8 you probably do not have any of the spells available yet. btw, don't ignore putting points into certain spells when playing a warrior, you will need them later on when you have to take on lots of Liches, DragonRiders, and Black Ring members.

Hi again,

Well I am a level 16 warrior now, and the Djinn still kills me in one or two hits. I'm getting a bit frustrated and I'm not sure what to do. I have about 170 hp and I can take only two hits maybe. What kind of spells do you suggest? I have a few healing ones but nothing else.

Thanks!

What are your resistances? You can buy Aura of guarding and Spell Shield skill books; I don't recall what type of damage the Djinn does.

If you drink a shadow potion and use your spin attack near (but not directly on) a creature, you will hit it without turning visible (it will stand there taking damage, and not hit back).

Enough restoration potions will get you through just about any fight.

Well I got the Aura of Guarding skill and that helped a little bit. The problem is as soon as he lands one hit I am instantly killed, even if I am at full health. I don't even get a chance to use a potion. I am level 17 now and still can't do it. I tried using a shadow potion but as soon as I enter the room it cancels. My resistances are all fairly low, I'm not certian of the numbers, but they are all below ten.

Any other ideas?

You could wait until you have better equipment. I had problems here the first time I got to Ars Magicana, so re-loaded. Then I forgot about this quest and didn't return until I was much stronger.

One hit kills are more fun when you are doing the hitting. Try entering the room first, pause the game after he sees you and turns hostile, then use a shadow potion (may need to move after that, if he keeps heading for the last place he saw you).

Well I finally killed it! I ended up using an Engergy Cage spell that I found. He was trapped and I didn't even get hit once.

Thanks for the help guys!
