Bug that if Magister borris turns hostile before ifan talks to him, after his death his note doesnt progress the quest other than in log book /Zaleskar dialog does not trigger, giving the crossbow, i know the quest can still be completed by act 1, but the quest branch shouldn't end if there's a note than can progress it alternatively
