Heh, I know the game's sorta just been released (not for me.. I'm debating whether to wait to July to get it *blerch* or order online to get it now.. hehee).. but maybe someone will be able to answer me..

does your apperance and/or gender make any difference in the game? Or is it just for cosmetics?

Like will ppl treat/talk to you differently and/or possible give more/less/different quests whether your main PC is male, female or a child? or normal, fat or muscular?

Hmm.. any idea why Larian decided to let you play a Child character? Not that I'm against that.. it just seems very curious in this day and age where every single company making games seems to be bending over backwards to cater for the non-violent, non-children gaming market..

hmm how to explain.. take example Fallout 1 & 2 .. look at how you could kill children in that game and such.. would a game like that ever be made or given the same rating? Nope.. cuz companies too bloody scared...

Everything seems so "PC" nowdays... can't have children in games... or if ya have em you can't kill em.. can't have bloodshed - err.. anyone played SW:KotOR? LOL funny how you shop enemies up with swords but no blood appears... *ahem*.. or look at NWN:HotU.. there's no children.. and the closest in there is the innkeeper's daughter.. and can you do anything to her? nope..

So I do admit.. with the gaming environment as it seems to be... with game companies going away from any sort of bloodshed, violence, having children in games, etc and so on.. I was surprised that Larian included the fact that your PC can be a child.. (hmm.. did i explain myself clearly enuff? heh.. I'm not brilliant at that :P)

but basically was wondering if anyone know if your gender and/or apperance had any effect at all in-game or whether that was jst cosmetic?

There are no differences in stats due to gender, build or appearance. I wouldn't expect any difference in quests or dialog due to gender.

you should be very happy then, that the Gaming Developers "IGDA" just won a battle against those who are trying to harm those that create violent games...or I should say you can hack up people in them LOL!!!

Raze - I noticed in the Demo that there didn't appear to be any differences. At least no difference in stats, but since the Demo doesn't really have any quests or conversations (apart from a few exceptions..) .. I wasn't sure if the main game would be any different.. Won't influence me to buy or not to buy the game either way really (gonan buy it.. hehe).. but was just curious.

I do like games which give players a choice and veriaty (sp?) in how they play, what they look like, etc ... it's why I like games like SW:KotOR or NWN.. you can be what you wanna be..

StrangeCat - hmm I didn't know anything about that to be honest. Time to google and find out whats up with that...

now don't get me wrong.. I'm not some bloodthirsty maniac but I've always been annoyed by the move to mainstream computer games and make them all "G" rated for all the kiddies playing.. blarg

Instead of that.. why not do what Fallout 1/2 did.. have a violence meter? hehehe... dun like blood? just turn the meter to "kiddies" and see all your enemies fall asleep as you *ahem* kill them!

LewsTherinKinslayer13 - you could? Woah.. I didn't know you could do that... LOL I never tried.. hehe

I think Lar said about that the stats for dexterity wereraised a little bit for women and the ones for strength for men.

Children ? Curiosity ?
