1. I cannot change the keys with which to scroll around. The default are the arrow keys but those are totally inconvienent. I need to remap those to wasd.

2. The FPS are locked at around 30 no matter what resolution or what AA/Anistrophic settings you set. I tested with every res, and every AA and AF setting possible. (I did the higher AA and AF settings through Nvidia driver only.) There are definite slowdowns when the auto-scroll to a cutscene within the game begins. Like when you meet that guard to the east and a little south. The same choppy movement exists in that auto-scroll to cutscene thing.

My PC:

Nvidia Geforce FX 5900 Ultra

EDIT: Obviously this only addresses problem 2 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Could be the graphics card causing the problem... Nvidia cards are not entirely direct x9 compliant - therefore if BD is using some dx9 features that the nvidia cards do not support it can cause slow down even on high end machines such as yours.

This problem is most notable on xbox ports (such as Deus Ex:Invisible War and Halo).

I have a similar spec machine to yours and I often get choppiness or low fps on games that are dx9 heavy.

For example, I am playing Far Cry - the game only officially supports directx9 (direct3d) and I often suffer from lag in the wilderness areas (and I am by no means on the highest settings). So I turned on the unsupported OpenGL mode (does not use dx9) and now the game flies and I can turn all settings up to max with no signifficant hit on my fps.

Anyway, I suspect that this is the problem.

Hi Abanyir,

I will move your thread to the Technical part of the <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> forum.

I have absolutely no slow down issues in Far Cry. The problem is not slow down, it's the fact that the game is locked in at 30 fps. Use fraps if you don't believe me. The test in the configuration gives me 85 fps at 1600x1200 with 4x aa and fog on.

Hmm... ok then... can't tell you anymore until I get the game.
