Larian Studios Forums Divinity: Original Sin 2 Divinity - Original Sin 2 - General I guess this game isn't for me.

I can't get past level 2, the first fort. I've talked to everyone, have my four person group, been all over the island. But, my group can't kill anything. I'm not new to gaming. I played the first Divinity, and several other single player games. I also play MMOs. I'm playing a Druid Summoner.

What difficulty are you playing? The early game is very harsh in general, you are competing with a badly equipped team against perfectly equipped teams. Even more if you play on Tactician. Not recommended if you are not used to the mechanics yet. Exploring will helf you get level and better equipment, before you engage in first combats. Sometimes better to try to single out single enemies, before enganging the full group. Don't play to aggressive, try to use the enviroment for your advantage.

Have you tried watching the first few episodes of a Let's Play series on Youtube to see how other people deal with the early game?

I would recommed watching Cohh. One because he is a nice guy and fairly entertaining. And second, because he is not a top tier strategic player. Watching an average player succeed will likely be more helpful. Just keep in mind his playthrough on Youtube is from right after release before any patches to the game came out.
