Larian has had amazing success with crowdfunding because they have a passionate fanbase who loves their games. Divinity 2 is awesome, but I want more. I, and many others, would happily give Larian more money for announced DLC projects.

Crowdfunding DLC isn't something you see much of at all, but since Larian are titans of kickstarter at this point, I see no reason not to. Pave the way for other loved gaming companies to be supported by their fans in helping create more content for games they love.

My suggestion for the first DLC: An infinite tower/dungeon crawl roguelike mode heavy on combat. Begin on floor 1 where you'll find skill books, gear, etc. and face some challenging encounters. Each floor the encounters and layouts are randomized as is the loot you get. Every X floors you'll face a difficult boss. The objective - ascend to divinity. Rise to the top of the leaderboards by getting further than anyone else in the infinite crawl.

No. I would not support crowdfunded DLC. That would also no doubt be controversial and lose a lot of fans.

I especially would not support a roguelike mode. An infinite tower makes no sense anyway. It is not the right genre, it does not fit.

The tunnels in pillars was kinda like that. It had so many levels with the big bad final boss (dragon). Perhaps he meant something like that. It would be an interesting area.

If they are not going to do DLC, I don't see why crowd funding for it would be bad?

Crowdfunding is just another way for the community to interface with the free market. My friends and I were really happy with the quality of both DOS and DOS2 and would like to have an opportunity to further support Larian.

That being said, it is very tricky and as Stabbey pointed out, perception can be against you if your move can be seen as opportunistic. As far as the specific suggestion of an endless dungeon - I don't think that works but just my opinion.

I'd be all for DLC and I wouldn't mind crowdfunding it but my friends and I might be outliers and I think Larian has such a good reputation so far that any change to their current formula could be bad. Interesting thought though!
