Hello, I am a modeler trying to get some experience within the Divinity Engine as a potential resume addition. I am trying to start off with some custom weapons since I've already had some modeled out at a previous time, and I figured it would be a fun way to start out.
I've set up Maya with the provided scripts and shelves with the exporter. I am able to get my model into the engine, I am able to get the physics into the engine, I can get my textures and provide a material for my model. The only thing I am stuck on is apply locators and attachments for the weapon. When a character picks it up, it resolves to a default position on the character which doesn't work.
I have downloaded a reference file provided in the Larian Wiki, and have created locators in the appropriate places around my model. I have named the locators in a way that mirrors the reference material. I have set up the locators and model's parent/child functions exactly how the references were.
When I export though, I am given a file with no model information, as if the exporter only exported the parent locator and nothing else. If I export the model as the parent first, the file gives me the model, but none of the locators/attachments are provided. I've exported one of the reference weapons and they have all the needed attachments. I have looked deep to see if there are any notable differences between my model and the references, but I haven't come across anything. Is there a step I'm missing when setting this up? The guides in the Larian Wiki are vague and don't really go too deep into anything. I've scoured the internet and have gone to the Discord for help but have still come across empty. Any and all help would be very appreciated.
