(i love GS and )

I'd love to help you out (it's those puppy eyes you know ), but I just can't remember. I know they went down, but I can't say if they keep on going down after that.
which version are you using?? you should be using V1.32

It is permanent; the vampire takes 1-4 stat points (most people seem to get 3 removed). You are suppose to save the kid, though. There is a magic orb south of the dwarven village (IIRC) which will add or remove 5 stat points (it is random, so save first) and a couple items which will bring you up a level, so you can more than make up for what you lost.

I think the higher level you have, the less skill points you lose. I tried it at a lower level and lost about 8 stat points. Just make sure you have a few excess stat points so that you can still use your armour and weapons after the drain.

The Wishing Well is a worthy investment. Give it as much money as you can.

Maybe the stat loss is related to spiritual resistance? I'll have to play with that next game.

If you are going to wish for experience, 1k gold gets the same result as 10k.

but you don't actually lose the gold, it would seem?
I did it a coupla times and the gold count in my
character stat screen didn't change. *shrug*
Maybe it took it out of my 401(k).

I dont recall my stats reducing, then again i'm running 1.29a. All the problems you guys speak of i have yet to experience. I take it i'm one of the lucky few The one thing i do remember is that the vamp took all my health down to 1/1079 at level 33 warrior. goodluck

The wishing well not taking the gold should be fixed in a game started after installing the v1.34 patch (and maybe in a game started before).

I was running v1.29a when I entered the dark cave, and lost three stat points to the vampire (in addition to the hit point drop).

Raze - I'll be there shortly with my newly formed mage. But until then i cant be sure about not losing nething cept the 1 hit point drop. Another thing, kill the vamp a couple times to make sure you get good items worth selling/keeping. I'll have to check on teh gold taking too - (wishing well) i threw the well 10k and upped my strenght stats for my warrior long ago - i dont recall losing the gold but its a sure fire thing to check out. Kiya was telling me peeps running 1.29 have the resistances bug which i thought was neat. i gotta check that out too. she told me 1.29 user's should not invest a skill point into magic barrier and find an item that gives +1/2/3/4/5 into it case point being the buggy maxed resistance in game.

Actually, the resistance bug is cause by equipping an item with a Magic Barrier bonus without otherwise learning the skill, then removing it. Fortunately, installing the patch will automatically fix this problem if you run into it.

sigh, it was exactly the other way around - you need a skill pt in magic barrier first to avoid the res. bug due to items having that skill.
