Hello,

I am playing with an Xbox 1 controller on PC and I have the following problem :

In combat, when I want to use a skill, I press Y.
Then I validate with the A button to use the skill or cast the spell.

Problem is: the game does not seem to detect that the skill command was used first so either I walk to the enemy or I attack it normaly just as if I had only pressed A without prepping the skill first.

To negate this effect, the only solution right now is to make sure that your cursor is not on something that interferes with any A button command.

Obviously, it completely messes with the combat and makes it a real pain in the butt.

I hope you will be able to fix this problem asap.

The problem is also present with all the command issued with Y from the Hotbar.

For exemple, after combat, if I want to use the bedroll to rest, I have to click several times with the A button until the game finally acknowledges the command.

I have noticed that sometimes holding the A button instead of just pressing it produces better results but it is still very unreliable.

Please fix this because it's annoying to quick load everytime the command does not respond properly and messes up your combat actions.

After further testing, I can confirm that it is a problem with the A command on the gamepad (Xbox1) but not just in combat or when using a skill.

I had the problem while using A in the inventory and having my character move, start a conversation or worse, steal from an NPC in the background.

It's difficult to replicate because sometimes it works or manifests but most of the time it does not. I have a hunch that the problem lies with the priority you set with the A button prompt or lack thereof.

I hope these details will be useful to the devs.

Note

I accidentally found a temporary solution to this problem, in combat at least :

-instead of validating the skill use with a A button prompt I validate with the start button on the controller and it works as intented.

However, the problem remains in other situations:

Example: I was rearranging skills in the hotbar and when validating with A, my character struck a conversation with a companion standing nearby.

but what do you mean by start button?
menu button? view button?


or do you have no xbox one controller special an xbox 360 controller, where there's a start button, that's the xbox one then the menu button

To be precise, it's the menu button that I use on the Xbox1 pad.

I bring up the hotbar with Y, validate with menu instead of A and then press A to confirm.

It takes some getting used to but it works.

There is a new patch up so maybe they fixed it.

Can confirm, it's not just Xbone controller. 360 controller attached to PC has the same problem, and did before DE.

Do you also have the impression that one is not taken seriously here? no matter what error you report, there is no reaction and not a single error is processed?
