Hi everyone!

Bought me an English version of BD yesterday. Was verry curious in the new game of Larian! I installed the game on my laptop, installing was ok, no problems but the game itselfs doesn't work <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

If I start the game, a videocard test is running with 64fps, I think that's no problem at all. When I start the game, a see an intromovie, but sometimes the game stops (halts) when the Larian intro is running, sometimes when the main intro (i think it's that movie)is playing. When I skip the movies (esc), the game runs normally, but when I actually bein to play the game (after the character creation), the game stops to play and halts...

My laptop configuration:
Mobile Pentium 4, 3ghz, 512MB Ram, GeForce FX Go 5200 64 DDR

Tried it on windows XP professional and home edition, both with the new Microsoft updates. Nothing worked. Also tried a few new drivers from Nvidia, but no changes. I installed the DirectX drivers on the BD CD...

I was really looking forward to this game, because of the fun I had during playing DivDiv. But I took a look at other mistakes and I think there's a lot wrong with the software. Someone got another idea? Really want to play!

Greetings
Michael

Could you try the following:

1) run dxdiag, and do the direct3D, directDraw and sound tests.

If ok:

2) uninstall the game. Disable all antivirus software. Reinstall;

3) If still unlucky: is your monitor correctly recognized by XP? Did you install your monitor dedicated XP drivers? Sometimes, default XP drivers do not have correct range of frequencies for the monitor, and switching from one graphical mode to another can cause trouble.

Good luck,
Philippe

Hi!

It's workinh now. Just had to need to update my DirectX drivers to version 9.a... Only problem now are the slowdowns during playing. I updates my video drivers to the latest drivers, but it doesn't change anything...

I've a Nvidia GeForce FX Go5200 in my laptop.

Someone got an idea for other drivers of another solution?

Thanks in advance
Michael

I have the same issues. Awful slowdown. Makes the game completely unplayable. Not too many answers on here at the moment relating to this issue. Here's hoping someone will solve this one.....
