Hi,

Small healing potion tooltip value is 30. Fane had 63 Health.
So he drank one potion, his Health went down to 35.
Ok, I thought, it's safe to drink another one.
He died. Needless to say, it was a honour mode game.
I think I wait some patches before trying it again.

Cheers.

Did Fane have any points into Warfare? It's a long shot, but maybe that could be an unexpected interaction with changes to letting healing spells do more damage to undead through Warfare.

That said, I'm really having a hard time following your thought process:

What part of "drinking this potion deals damage to me" makes you think "I should drink a a second one"? What purpose did that serve?

Shouldn't his health have at least dropped to 33?

I just checked, it seems it's as Stabbey said, Warfare seems to affect this value. Without any point in Warfare, the potion did exactly 30 points of damage (64 - 30 = 34). With 2 points in Warfare, which increases physical damage the character does by 10%, the damage became 33 (64 - 33 = 31).

He probably wanted to check the damage again, and by "safe" he meant with 35 HP left the potion shouldn't have killed him.

But hey you really should be careful with such things when playing Honor mode.

You say healing potion. Seems to me you are forgetting an important thing here. Fane is undead, he take damage from normal healing potions that you use on living characters, like a human, or a dwarf. Undead heal when they drink poison, or are hit with spells, grenades, arrows, or anything else that deal poison damage.

you all miss that the author probably knew that healing potions will harm him. (at lease that's the impressions I've got from reading OP)/ maybe his intention was to get to low hp in a safe way... though I doubt that necro 2 spells are already available to him and that's probably the only sane reason to do it.

Yes, it was intended, it was a preparation for a Death Wish skill. You can buy it in Fort Joy at level 4. I wanted to go as low as I can, to have the highest damage bonus. And yes, there were points in Warfare, but after the first one (damage 28) I thought it is safe to drink another one with 35 life.

Maybe Necromancer's healing works too if you damage yourself.

For example:
30 dmg + 10 dmg (+ 35% from 7 Warfare) after this 12 heal (30% from 3 Necromancer) = 28 dmg
But with the second potion the character dies after the damage and the healing from Necromancer does not work anymore.

Edit: I test it now with 2 warfare and 2 Necromancer. The small healing Potion do 33 damage (30+30%) and also heals me 7hp (20% of the 33 dmg).
