Here's what I'd ideally like to do.

1. Create five (head, hands, legs, chest, feet) pieces of armor. No new meshes or textures, just create new pieces of armor based on existing in-game items.

2. Give the armor the stats/rune slots I want. Allow it to be upgradeable.

3. Assign a specific style/visual to the armor.

4. Have the armor sold by an NPC on the Lady Vengeance. Somehow make it so the armor isn't gone forever after buying it once.

I'm already stuck at Step 1 because when I go to create my root template, I'm unsure as to what I'm supposed to be setting up. There doesn't seem to be a guide out for simply picking a type of armor, modifying its visuals and stats, and popping it back into the game.

I basically want to do whatever this guy did in his mod to put a chest full of items in Fort Joy that have the appearance of the starter armor that we see during character creation. I've even extracted his .pak and .lsf files but can't figure out exactly what he did. Wanted to give it a shot myself since the creator seems to have gone silent.

The guide on creating new armors feels all over the place and seems mostly geared towards people who are importing custom meshes rather than just....copying from the game and modifying. Does someone have anything close to a quick and dirty tutorial on how to do this?

I'm pretty new to the mod tools, and I feel like an idiot that I'm not getting how to do this type of project seeing as I was able to make Fane an elf fairly easily.

I would be interested too in this process, and it would be awesome to mod an armor on existing meshes from the game.
