I have an issue with the definitive edition shadows, in that they are too dark and practically invisible.

as far as I can tell, my graphics settings are identical. I'd much prefer the things in shadows to be at least somewhat visible.

Using any mods? That looks like a distant lightprobe that hasn't rendered properly.

I did not consider the influence of mods - apparently the fort joy respec mod I installed caused the issue. Thanks!

Glad you got it sorted. FYI I notified Kalavinka, assuming you used the Nexus version which apparently hadn't gotten the fix yet. So don't give up on the mod, check back in on it in a day or two (or sooner!) and check the update date & time. I'm sure it'll be good and dandy in no time
