Hello there
I suggest using spirit vision to talk with spirits (for quests and info about academy) and exploring surrounding rooms for clues on how to continue. Your goal is to deactivate the barrier on the other side of the academy (from entrance just go straight and you will see it). I hope this helps a little :)
