It would be nice to be able to skip grinding through Fort Joy and just input all the plot choices that don't have a single optimal solution into a nice, simple form.

Nothing but inventory and a few plot points are being saved anyway, right?

But I do wonder - as someone who hasn't left Fort Joy yet - why is it a popular request (enough that someone DID make a commonly downloaded mod to skip it)?

I suspect it may be a common request from people who did the EA thing and played through it eleventy billion times: guilty as charged. But in spite of that, it remains my favourite bit of the game.
