I seem to have drank the ale, which I'm supposed to give to Dwarven Mayor to get the password (I got the ale a LONG time ago and didn't know why I need it for). I don't have an earlier savegame - do I need to start from beggining or will he take anything else ?! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif" alt="" />

You ca, get a new one from Rimmer in the village. You can buy as many as you want.

You can buy Rimmer's ale (through speech options) for 5 gold, and sell them for 50.
BTW, you get more experience for killing the sentry than giving him the password.

I also did not get the password.You don't need it to get pass the Guardian.You can just kill him <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" /> Don't recall him fighting back either <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

He does fight back, but Sentry is very weak for a guardian. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

And very low spirit resistance is his weakness. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Thanks! By the way I tried giving him almost any kind of ale you could possibly find in the game (Rimmer's was first) I even brought some from Dwarven King's throne room - he won't take any. So I can finish the game without that? That's a huge relief!
PS: Is Dwarven King supposed to get pissed after telling him that it wasn't elf's fault (I thought I had to have a confession from Mayor before speaking to him about that and that I broke the storyline)?

You don't get a confession from the mayor, just the letter and axe in the mine.

Ya, the sentry was TOTALLY easy! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Same with the gargoyles (or whatever they are) in the Black Ring dungeon. I was surprised, and get so much experience too!
