...but I have 4 keys in my inventory and I don't know what they unlock. I'm assuming they're all to be used somewhere in act 1.... I have a silver key, a saphire key, a big key that looks like a battlefield key, and a smaller one called 'key' that has a yellow star at the end and a blue 'key' part of the key. I have completed all quests, and tried all the locked chests in the sleeping quarters, but no luck. Anyone know what these keys are used for?
EDIT: I also found a key in the empty dungeon number 2 in the battlefields, though I assume it's just randomly there and doesn't open anything...

You can get a key in the drill grounds medic's room to open the spider cell's trap had you blocked it with the metal bar. The large key I think is for the blacksmith's room, to the far north east on the second citadel level (north of Samuel's lair). There is a key in the parcour to a chest in General Bram's cellar that you might have missed.

Thanks. I've opened the blacksmith's room but apart from a unique weapon, I can't seem to do anything there. Can't see how to destroy the hatch to flood the citedal.... is there something I can do in here?
And after going to that chest and the blacksmiths, I still have two keys left. One is for the spider cage that I didn't block, the other I don't know. I think I picked it up in the lower citedal level where all the death knights patrol, in one of the storage rooms along their patrol route. Plus I have another key that I picked up in the battlefield dungeon that I assume is useless.....

In the storage room in the corridor south of the parcour, there is a locked chest under a bunch of packages, with the key under a barrel (IIRC) by the northern door. Perhaps you missed the chest there?
forge Spoiler : In one of the rooms in the pit level you could have found a book explaining how to make gunpowder, though you don't actually need the book. You need a coal barrel (from Fergus' room, first level) + salt barrel (citadel kitchen), then to this mixture add sulphur from the citadel medic's room. Drag and drop the resulting bomb onto the forge.

Thanks for the reply, I would never have got that. I like that detail though I wouldn't have thought such a solution were possible, I guess I need to start thinking in a slightly different way to play this game.... I did find the book but thought nothing of it. Does that mean I can make the cakes and stuff I see in recipies around the game?

One more question, I've left the citedal and guards are always attacking me, I assume that the disguise is useless? Or is there the opportunity to talk to these guards if I had a disguise....?

Hi.How do you open the door to the blacksmith ? Do you need the key from samuel room or is there another way? How do you defeat the guards in samuel room?

Yes, you have to defeat the DK in Sammy's lair => forge key is in one of the locked chambers - and 2 DK drop a key.
I did it like this => stood at the door and took agressive mode out, so my DK didn't run into trouble. So, they came to me to fight => I used arrows. When they came into melee distance, I ordered my DK to attack. When both were low in health, I simply clicked on the exit - healed myself and then went back in - rinse and repeat. Took quite some potions and a lot of pause mode

>>how did you kill fargus<<
The easiest way to kill fargus is to make sure both your characters have put a point to damage for the weapon they are using, either at the start or when you got level 2. That one point to damage makes him go down pretty fast.

Never forget that you can use potions without taking game time in unlimited quantities. As long as your potions last and you don't get killed in one shot almost ANY fight is winable.
You won't have many healing/regeneration potions yet by Fergus but you shouldn't need more than one (which is the number he takes).
Reality is for those who cannot cope with fantasy. Fortunately, I can cope quite well.

spoiler? Bug? Or just good technique?
I killed fargus with my survivor without using any potions, without taking any damage, and without allocating any skillpoints or even using any spellpoints. Well, perhaps using sneak cost me some spellpoints. I had a bow, and I discovered that if you open the door with sneak mode on and go only just inside the doorway and stand in exactly the right spot he will say his dialog but not move to attack you. There's a table sort of between you and him. You can hold down shift and hit him with arrows. It took me a couple game reloads but eventually I killed him using about 17 arrows (no better than half hitting) and him not moving or healing. This was playing the demo so I can't say if this works in the full game.
