Good evening,

got some problems with the game since the last update early december.
I can't say if it was Update 3.6.33.5509 or 3.6.33.2684

Since then my CPU goes absolutely crazy when I start the game up. The temperature instantly spikes up to 84° in the menu and rises above 95° after I load a save.
I either have to quit the game right away or my PC shuts down.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might help?
I scoured Google already, but wasn't able to find any recend overheating related issues. I own the game twice - Steam and GOG. Both versions got the same problem.

I'm using a Intel i7 4790K, two 980Tis, RAM sits at 32GB. OS is Win 8.1 (please no bully)

I may be wrong but can i suggest deliding your 4790, they were well known to have issues caused by not enough paste applied to the chip, if you are unsure take it to an expert and ask for a delid with pro paste, your temps will fly down, Divinity is very CPU heavy and if your cooling isnt up to scratch it will hurt.

Changed the paste.
Temperature went down about 4-5° during playing.

It started at 85°, which was at least a bit of an improvement, but slowly kept creeping back up. After a few minutes it reached 92° and I quit the game.

Try capping framerate to something like 60 fps.

Framerate was capped at 60 before.
Tried turning down the graphic settings - same result.

Guess the game is broken for me. Shame. Really liked it.
