Ive asked this before but I don't know if anyone knows the answer. When someone teaches you something it says the skill then it says a skill level number after it e.g. skill level 10. what does this mean? I cant find any reference to what this mean in the manual.

you can put in skill points until lvl 10 in your example - it's the level cap the teacher can teach you.-
Example => I get the skill 2-hand slashing up to level 5: I can only learn this skill via skill points up to this level - then I meet another teacher, who teaches me this up to lvl 10 => now I can put more skill points into it.

Just wondering, what is max skill level achievable? Any caps?

Yes, there are skill level caps => some are 5, some are 10 - and some are 6.

If this sounds meagre for you - an example: In order to max out all bow subpoints, I have to use 25 skill pts. And if you want to max out 1-/2-hand weapons at lvl 10 - regardless of slash/pierce/crush => you can imagine, how many points you would need => 50 - just for one of the 3 mentioned.
