Well, I don't think the manual is online, but you could ask any problems you might have here. There's always someone willing to help you out.

Hold the Ctrl key when you drop an item, you will get a window where you can choose how many you want to drop.

If you drag and drop a stack of flasks onto garbage or a poison barrel, you should end up with one filled potion on the ground and the rest of the stack in your inventory. That is what I did for health / mana / restoration potions, anyway.

You can not pick up herbs or mushrooms, just drop empty bottles on them if you have Alchemy.

Indeed, you can't pick up herbs, you have to make potions out of them by dragging empty bottles over them, HOWEVER, you have to make sure you have the right level of Alchemy.

Alchemy:

Level 1: You can mix small potions. (Try making regeneration, by mixing health and mana)
Level 2: You can make small potions. (Using small empty flasks)
Level 3: You can make normal sized potions. (Using empty flasks)
Level 4: You can make large potions. (Using empty super flasks, or whatever they're called)
Level 5: You can increase the effect of a potion by dragging them over augmentators (augmentator= special kind of herb)

I don't think you can fill flasks at the shrines, but never tried. They do refill themselves after you use them (for awhile, anyway).

The entire DD manual is in pdf form on the Installation Disk #1 in the directory called Manual. At least in the Hip Games published version.
