Hello dear Players and Community Members!
I seek out for help now due a rather unusual happening.

I started a new Game with a Friend of mine (No remote play, he has own copy) who wanted to finally finish the Game in a swoop.
We used Classmods (Hephaistos - Haelena) and some Overhauls like Day/Night Cycle, better inventory overview etc. Nothing out of the ordinary and Mods i personally used for my own Runs without running into a Problem.

Now the Problem at hand is that in the Area of Kniles the Flenser in the Sewer of Fort Joy, the Game crashed now 3 times in a Row in the same Area.
1. When the Dialog was over and Fight started.
2. When he dropped dead.
3. 2-3 Rounds after he Died.

Crash Report is of course made and send out.

After the 2. attempt my Mate was not able to join my game again. We tried restart by going Main menu and load again. Nope.
Restarted game completly. Nothing.

I play on 1920x1080 Fake Fullscreen Mode on High Graphics since it was released so i dont think its a Hardware Problem.

We even checked the Integritiy of the Files and reinstalled it again. (Steam)

I hope i can find the Issue so we can resume soon!
Thanks for answers if there are some coming :D

Are you shutting down all non-essential programs before starting the game, especially anti-virus and anything network related (utility or monitoring programs, etc)?

Can you friend join if you start a new game? If so, can you then load the latest save from your current playthrough?
If a new game does not work, try testing in a new profile without any mods enabled.

Have you tried sending the save to your friend, to see if you could join if he was hosting?

Have either of you tried playing with anyone else since this started?

Have you tried hosting/joining an Arena match?

Have your friend go into Arena mode, create an arena, open the Connectivity menu and check the settings, then exit to the main menu and try joining in the lobby. Alternately, create a multiplayer game lobby, exit and try joining.

Have you tried different ways to join? Other than the Steam lobby and friend invite function, there is also Direct Connection, with a Server ID (which the host can get in the Connectivity Menu after starting a new game or loading a save) or IP address. In the latter case, it can help if the host sets up port forwarding in their router to connect to the PC (ports 23253-23262 and 23243-23252), and then the clients should be able to connect to the external IP address.
LAN may be an option, but since you are not on the same local network, it would require VPN software, such as Hamachi or Tunngle.
If you use Discord, that may also be an option.

Try resetting your network adapters:
- click Start (or Search in Win 10), type cmd into the search box, right click Command Prompt and select run as administrator.
- type the following command and hit Enter
netsh winsock reset
- when that is done, there should be a message 'Winsock reset completed successfully'
- type exit and hit Enter, then reboot your computer.
For more details, see:
https://iihelp.iinet.net.au/Resetting_Network_Adapter_(Winsock_Reset)

If you can not connect with other people, either, try starting the game, switch to windowed mode and lower the game resolution (and maybe check the option to mute the sound volume when the game doesn't have focus), start a multiplayer game, hit Esc, open the Connectivity Menu, optionally disable online multiplayer (if it is enabled) and make sure LAN Connections is enabled (or that can be done in the options before starting a new game).
Next, start the game again from the '..\SteamApps\common\Divinity Original Sin 2\DefEd\bin\EoCApp.exe' program file (doesn't matter if the first instance is started through Steam or the executable), select Join Online Game in the Campaign section, switch to the LAN tab, rather than Online, and try joining.

What i wanted to add now after i posted and tried:

When i load it solo and do it, it crashes still. It didnt even gave me an option to invite him to the Game and he couldnt join either.
Then i also tried to do it solo, so i made a new game myself, got there but then it didnt crash. (Tried with Mods, and without mods)
It seemed to crash only in multiplayer.

Everything was out, Anti-virus everything.

Yes he could join when i created a new Game. We tried to load the latest save then again, and it crashed again.

We tried Arena and it worked.
Direct Connection also worked.
Also form direct File.

If you can not load the save in single player, that eliminates networking as the issues, and means the issue is due to your system (install, mods, background programs, etc), or less likely something in the save that is system dependent.

Since you reinstalled the game, that leaves the mods as a potential problem. If you and your friend use a program like DVDSig or ExactFile to scan your Mods folders, then swap the files that they create to verify, that would identify any differences.
DVDSig is tiny (alternate download), portable and doesn't require an install, while ExactFile has more features.
Alternately, you could use a program such as Hash to create a list of checksum values to compare manually (slightly more work comparing, but no file swapping).

If that doesn't help, please email supportdos2@larian.com with the save (or a Dropbox or Google drive link, etc), a link to this topic and a full list of (non-Larian) mods enabled and/or the modsettings.lsx file from your profile folder.
Also check the '..\Divinity Original Sin 2\DefEd\bin' folder for the gold.log file, and if there are any 'CrashDump' files being created, zip a few together to include.
