As everyone here im a huge fan of BG since 20 years ago, and ive been reading FB, Twitter and Reddit forum this days and well... there is no doubt there is a huge wave of dissapointment. I dont want to get into who is right and who is wrong. That is pointless. I think developers know the situation, they know that companies as Blizzard didnt hear the fanbase for years and things like Warcraft III Reforged happened, and Larian is a great studio.
My point is: there is still time to make changes and to be together all again as BG brothers :D
1. To change the interface is not a big deal. To add painted portraits or the option to add ours, make it less shiny and more darker, more close to originals... is not a big deal.
2. Change the music is still on time. Kickstarter of new pathfinder has a really good song, and games as Skyrim are still on our memory for the music. They still can do it!
3. Go to the story essence, less Divnity (wich it was great) and more BG.
Tricky thing is to add more companions than 4 and the Battle System, but they can even add the option (i know that is hard an expensive).
In summary. I'm sure they are working in most of this things, but the fanbase needs to know they are working on it. Just one "hey, people, we have listen to you and dont worry, it is an alpha, there is time enought to make it perfect for BG and DOS fans" would be ok. I think, from the commercial point of view, is wise to listen your target, and im sure they are doing it. We only need the confirmation they are not Blizzard xD
