Why do you think everyone who liked BG would prefer BG3 to resemble the old? If anything, the number of potential people coming to those games who had never played D&D was probably a lot smaller than those who had. To fit in the former category, you likely would have had to be born somewhere between 84 and 90. To be in the latter category, anywhere from 1900 on up. Sure, you could have been born in 1970 and never heard of D&D until BG came along; but that would be unusual. I would posit that most of those who played and enjoyed BG1&2 first enjoyed and played D&D, and thus, welcome a return to what we think of as a more pure D&D experience.

I will see if I can find the thread you mention.

I don't say everyone who liked BG would prefer BG3 to resemble the old. I am saying I would, and am giving reasons why. From a certain stand point, since the decision to make RTwP was because they wanted to introduce D&D to the wider computer gaming audience, by taking it back out again they are saying goodbye to those people and hello to different people.

edit: you've already posted in it: "So what is BG then?"

I guess one group had to get the short end of the stick. I'm sure the success of DOS2 was the reason why WotC went with Larian, and thus, the "different people."

It look it's only about money between Larian ans WoTC.

They haven't the will of doing something else.
They took the name for them, because they are probably fans or BG1 and 2 and find so cool to do it their ways... While they ruined the dreams of many players waiting for Baldur's Gate THREE for half a life or more.

Doesn't look to me like it's only about money. Looks like it's a perfect match.

If they "they ruined the dreams of many players waiting for Baldur's Gate THREE for" twenty years, they just might be fulfilling the dreams of many more players waiting thirty years for a return to a more authentic D&D game.

Maybe, but what's they doing is called Baldur's Gate 3, not just next Dungeon and Dragons game. By the way if you've waited thirty years for turn based D&D game then you missed some titles like The Temple of Elemental Evil or Pool of Radiance 2 (już for example).
