Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Technical Problems load/save crash

Sometimes when I load the a saved game, the mini map is all white. When this happens I can play the game as usual, but when I try to save or load, the game crashes. This has happen to me numerous times that I know to quit and restart the game whenever I see the white mini map. This is so far the only crashing bug I've had 1.5 weeks into playing it.

This happened to me a couple times (with a blue/green mini-map), but only after excessive re-loading to get the best stats on something. This was mentioned in the old forum, but I don't recall seeing a solution.

Other than checking for updated drivers, changing the configuration settings, deleting the files in the dynamic folder, or re-installing the game, I'm not sure what to suggest.

This happens to me too, and also, as Raze said, when I am overzealous in my attempts to get better stats for a weapon or an amulet.

Actually, I found that the true solution to this problem is very simple. No need to reinstall the game or look for newer drivers (mine are newest anyway).

Just, when at the restarting the game it would wish you to reset the configuration, select NO. Apparently, it feels comfortable with the "old" configuration prior to the "blank minimap" state. After that the game runs quite smoothly (till the next fit of excessive reloading, that is).

Try it: works for me.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah, it only happens when I'm reloading often like you guys said so it seems we all are having the same problem. Because the problem is readily reproducible, I hope Larian will find a fix for it soon.
