well, I just failed my third attempt to install BD. The installation itself runs smoothly, but when I reach that dba.cab file, the installation hangs. There isn't any progress in the installation, and my computer seems to get stuck as well, since I cannot switch to other windows.

Any suggestions?

Yes, I've already disabled my Norton, and I have tried to install it while doing nothing else.

You could try copying all 3 files off the CDs to the same folder on the hard drive, and installing from there. If your optical drive is part of the problem, then this might help.
A long time ago I was having problems installing something (shut down everything else, etc), and ended up doing so in safe mode, where I had no problems at all. I have no idea if that would help, though.

You could try to install Directx 9 apart from the <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beyond.gif" alt="" /> installation, and THEN run the installation.

You may need to download the Directx9.0b package (that's the latest) prior to that.

Hope this helps.

Alrik.

Yeah, I was just reading Technical Support. But the weird thing is: I cannot copy that BeyondDivinity.exe either. It just hangs, the same as during my regular installation attempts. I also notice that my CD-ROM player starts acting up. I've never had any issues with that player, and when I put in another CD, it runs fine.

But when I use my CD-RW driver, for copying the files of the 1st installation CD, it does work. And I continued the installation -part 2- directly from the CD #2, the game CD, on my CD-ROM player, the very one that was acting up on that dba.cab file.

Weird.

But anyway, issue is bypassed.
