If you save the game and reload (with both pieces equipped), that should end the conflict between the silenced and immunity to silenced statuses.
A skill being cancelled as you were trying to use it could result in movement instead.
If you are using the pointer to select opponents (rather than the shoulder buttons to cycle through them), movement in the idle animations may result in a movement rather than a standard attack, but that would not be the case for skills/spells (which would either not work without a valid target, or would still be cast on the ground).
