In steam, the game is listed with both online PvP and split screen PvP. I haven't heard Larian mention anything about this, but I might have missed it. Does anyone here know if PvP will be implemented?

Hopefully a battle royale mode.

Heard nothing of it. All that has been shown suggested a very coop experience.

Perhaps they'll take another look at the arena mode for this game (it's something I wish was better in divinity), or perhaps there will be a potential source of conflict within the group similar to D:OS 2. I kind of hope the latter isn't true unless it's an optional route to take the story, but who knows.

This is a good question.

With paper and pencil D&D, most people only progressed as far as low level characters. They seldom learned how to use higher level spells and miracles against other magic users.

If there is PvP, it will be fun to see how skillful people are at defeating each other with a combination of magic and other trickery.

Just want to point out that DOS 2 is also tagged with PvP in Steam.

In DOS2's case I guess the PvP tag was added because it had a separate game mode called Arena where players could fight short battles against each other using a selection of preset characters. The main game also had some optional PvP elements, but I'm not sure if their presence is enough to warrant the addition of a PvP tag to the game's store page.

I assume BG3 will have something similar to DOS2's arena game mode. I don't know how popular that game mode actually was, but I imagine it'll be a good way for people unfamiliar with the 5e classes to try them out without having to play and level them up in the game's story campaign.
