Another news, the narrator will be Amelia Tyler. She is the voice of two of the sassiest RPG badasses: Nyrissa of P:K and Malady of DoS2; amongst others.

I bet you also recognized the girl´s voice in the last gameplay.

Awesome stuff. Malady is one of my favorite characters in Divinity, I had not made the connection to her in Pathfinder but that's awesome.

I honestly hope there will be an option to turn off the narrator. I hate having every single line read to me like I am a child who can't read for myself. Video games are interactive media, not passive ones. Every time I heard the narrator's voice it took me out of the scene.

Imagine watching a subtitled anime where someone was reading the subs out to you while the show was going on. That's how she makes me feel.

Edit: I should add that this isn't about the voice actor herself, she's wonderful, I am talking about the presence of the narrator in the game.

I didn't like that we had narrator at all DOS2, but the combination with cutscenes on BG3 worked really well.

Plus she has a different tone than the comic narrator in DOS2. I hope it doesn't get tiring overtime as in DOS2.

Nyrissa is the most iconic character on the best modern rpg(pathfinder kingmaker). I an happy about that.

I recognized her voice instantly, I had very recently played DOS2. I loved it! I love her! I'm so happy!

If her VO weren't consistant with overall tone I might agree. But entire D:OS is "overplayed". As such I think she sounded great, and her VO for BG3 sounded great so far as well.

What I would actually love to see is our narrator being an important character we meet at the end of our campaign, like Zariel or Mystra. Would be cool.

BG isn't DOS and should not be overplayed.

1) I think you have mistaken Pillars of Eternity with Baldur’s Gate.
2) I was referring to her performance as Malady in D:OS2, not BG3, though now when I am rereading the post I replied to I see that it might have criticised her VO for BG3.. I am not sure. If that is so, then I disagree.
