A while ago I found this Kickstarter project.

Look the video presentation
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1928372437/godice-your-favorite-dice-games-reimagined?lang=it

A dice set connected to an app, which allowed you to roll real dice and view the result of the roll directly in the game ... I immediately thought WOW that's cool! I could buy them to play D&D. Today I was thinking ... what if Larian implemented this dice rolling peripheral? It would no longer be simulated, but real ... What do you think? Wouldn't that be a nice little thing for BG3 to own?

I’d roll a physical D20 for saves. That would be pretty cool.

Of course, clearly not for all the dice present. For the D20 only...
it would be a more immersive way to play. Clearly it has to be a game option, not the only solution
Sometimes I like to think about crazy things...Ahahah

Clearly I was talking about BG3, given that there are simulated shots of the D20.
Why not also think of a solution like this? Immersive in regards to dice rolls. It could be a separately sold device for those who want to use it.

Absolutely if that's something you'll enjoy... but I really don't want Larian to forget Baldur's Gate is a true video game experience BEFORE a tabletop simulator smile

I doubt that Larian will take time out of their schedule to implement support for a gadget that no one owns because it doesn't even exist yet. But who knows. I see it as more of a mod thing, implemented by some dude from the community.

Obviously it must be an option, and not the only choice ...

If you look at how much they have earned you can easily see the success this "gadget" has achieved. The project is finished and shipments should arrive this month to those who supported the project ...

The die kickstarter was backed by 4000 people. That's a lot for an individual product, but negligible when calculating time and cost and whether it is really worth to the die that into any software product.

DOS2 enhanced has between 2 and 5 million steam sales. https://steamspy.com/app/435150 doesn't tell exactly. You think a AAA studio cares about 4000 sold dice?

Still my personal opinion, but unless a developer at Larian found a personal interest in the product AND the company allows him to invest time and money into an implementation - which I deem infinitesimally small, I'd say it will not happen.

You are only looking at the numbers of a (fairly unknown) kickstarter project without having a creative vision of a potential project.
Luckily I do creative work, where ideas often collide with money... and I can tell you that sometimes, the idea wins if you believe it.
It might not really be as feasible as you say, which is not in my best interest; mine are creative speculations.
If we just look at the numbers we would all be mathematicians, surveyors and bankers ... and we wouldn't even have BG3 and a thousand other things...

How do you think ideas are born?
With a moron who goes to his boss and says: "Hey look what I found on internet! It would be cool to think we can create and sell it for BG3 too, right? Let's try to do a Comarketing?"

What I claim is that: integrating a real Dice connected with a role-playing game, in which instead of representing it as a graphic effect, roll on your desk, that would be very cool... and VERY NEVER SEEN
