Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - General 2nd Edition to 5th Edition? What happened?

If your last encounter with D&D rules was the 2nd Edition, what should you know? Is there a nice video somewhere you can recommend which gets you up to speed?

Thanks for that. It saves me having a long discussion with my son on the differences. Unfortunately, he plays 5E while I last played using the Advanced rulebooks, way back in the day.

OP, it also depends on whether you are asking about changes to rules and mechanics, or about settings and canon lore. The former I don't know much about, because frankly I don't really care for D&D rules and mechanics generally anyway. But I am a huge fan of the Forgotten Realms setting and its lore, so if you have specific questions to that, I would be happy to fill you in.
