The hype is currently uncontainable. Speeds aren't ideal, only getting about 7MB/s on GoG but I imagine they are slammed.

I wonder why I'm never impatient. During an MMO launch I buy early, but when I log in first time, the others already at max level. I'm somehow sorry for them, they are always in a hurry. Just feel the taste of that food, isn't meant to be swalowed whole. And then like that, they already gone. Life is eternal, take your time.

Took a while but Steam finally decided to take my money. Steam says my download is about 85GB. I wasn't paying real close attention before clicking the "Install" button, but it was much bigger than 66GB. Now for some thumb-twiddling while it downloads.

EDIT: package size settled down to about 60GB, so the extra space was likely for decompression

EDIT 2: two hours to complete the download - Steam's servers are getting hit pretty hard today.

Alright, so I fixed it. If you ran into the "pending purchase" issue, you can go into Steam's Account Details and cancel the transaction to clear it from the system, and then repurchase it. I guess it was just a hiccup because of the massive server load. It's downloading fine now.

Steam hiccuped and I had to cancel my first attempt to complete the purchase, but had success after waiting 20 minutes or so and trying again.

Yep, it´s 66 gb download in gog. I expect the game installed to be more than that, but I expect that the final amount would be less than the 150gb they told us.

this game made me finally uninstall Skyrim with all the mods after all this years because I needed the hard disk space. I hope it´s worth it.

Anyway, a era has ended. I wonder how much disk space the final installment of BG3 would have.

Disk space getting cheaper, and I'm glad if I can fill them to 50% with good content, rest of 50% is better kept empty (if SSD). Still, Flight Simulator sized downloads are scary, luckily I don't like them.

This doesn't mean the game takes up 150GB, just that needs at least this much free space to work, like decompress and run (and even more free space on the drive if this is installed to same drive as Windows, for future Windows growth and temporary stuff)
