While hacking through Battlefield 1, my characters suddenly started "crouching" and their staminas got "stuck", example: 95 of 170, and would not recover even though I had them just stand still (Vitality recovered 100%). Any running would reduce stamina more, ex. 70 of 170, with no recovery while stopped. I had no place to sleep in BF 1 so,

I transported back to a bed in Citadel 1, slept/ate and got back to 100% stamina et al. But, no matter where I went after that, my characters were still crouched, hobbling around like 80-year old monkeys.

I went back to a saved game where everyone was standing "upright", transported, slept/ate and tx back but haven't had time to see if they would start crouching again.

Is the "crouching" a bug, a result of not resting enough (if so, why didn't the char pic recover after resting), or was I cursed or....? Didn't fight any mages, etc. only Lvl 2 skeletons and didn't see any signs of "debilitation" in main screen (just the crouching) or on the inventory stats page.

I think you may have accidentally selected the sneak skill of your Death Knight and attached it to either the primary or secondary hands of that character. Then, when you clicked the left or right mouse buttons while that character was highlighted, you entered sneak mode. Your characters crouch, and their vitality remains either constant (while stantionary) or dropping (while moving). Just hit the relevant mouse button again with your Death Knight highlighted, and that should relieve the problem. You might also want to make sure you have primary and secondary skills properly assigned.

Well, crikey, since I haven't sneaked before (just barged in with swords/bows blazing), I didn't realize it was so simple (but not obvious).

Guess when one first sneaks, the game needs to tell dummies like me that the characters' bodies will be "crouched". That info is not in the sneak description in the manual. But it's hard to make everything "fool proof" and I'm the fool to prove that )

You're not a fool. It's just not a very intuitive system, and the manual leaves a good deal to be desired. (You'll look in vain, for instance, for any description in it of alchemy or charms.) But the game is worth it: a great deal of fun.

An error I made very often at the beginning was this => I had sneak activated on secondary - then I changed the sec skill, whilst still being in sneak mode, (was a magic skill) => had the same prob. So I changed back to sneak as sec. - right clicked to get them out of the sneak mode and THEN changed my sec skill again.

Thanks Fable & Kiya.

Kiya, I know I read your reply to the following question somewhere on the forum but I can't seem to find it again. Sorry.

Q. Where are the descriptions of the numbered points on your map sets?

Also, is there such a thing as a narrative walkthrough for BD? Is the game too big or is it just not out yet? Perhaps it would be too time consuming and the forum will handle any questions players might have?

Best wishes, SA

Oh, I have them on paper, sorry - but Hellfighter made wonderful maps in English - may I forward this link to you?

AFAIk a walkthrough is not ready (yet). I have seen none at LocusInn. The game is new and the people still have to play it - with these patches and changes... I think it might take some time.

If you have questions - please ask.

Keep any eye on GameFAQs. They usually have the best collections of walkthroughs and inventories.
