Come on :

Lets have a what skills do we choose and why, but lets not all say wisdom. (thats a pre requisite) (sp ??), also mention what level you are in the game, where you are and if you have completed it already.

Elemental Arrows - Fan Tastic
(level 22 atm)

For me, I completed the game as a female mage around level 47. My favourite skills have to be 'Blind,Curse,Lifeleech and Hellspikes'. This combo can take out anything in the game! In fact, so effective is this combo, that if I play the game again, they will probably be the only active skills that I max out and use exclusively I wasted a lot of skill points experimenting with different skills my first time through. Next time I'll do much better

Cheers

I have completed the game for the first time...(and will probably play it again its sooooo much fun)

I ended up a warrior level 49(could'nt quite make it to 50)two quests incompleted and 2 missed that i found out about with one failed. I dont think that there was too much on all the maps that I avoided killing.

I maxed out my sword skill, shield skill, fire damage, charm, avoid arrows/missiles, augment damage, augment defense, lightening damage and i think spread the rest of my skills to other areas such as pick lock, telekenisis and some others that are necessary for quests as those who have finished the game know.

The reason behind these should be obvious for a fighter class character. The tougher you are the more butt you kick. The other skills for small bonuses and out of necessity for quest completion.

I am currently a level 46 female mage.
My favorite at the beginning was metorstrike,it worked well for lower level creatures. Until i found out about life leech!!! (Used it to defeat the Eye of the Cyclops Guardian, as well as the dragon) Elemental hail is great too, used it to get close enough to Josephine to get her with my sword.
One thing i would recommend - spend pionts on strenght!!!! I would not have been able to use the awesome swords i have without it.

I have 2 fighters in 2 different games. My favorite skills are poison weapon, freeze, elemental hail, and summon death knight. I won't forget mentioning that Hell Spikes, and deadly discs look pretty awsome too!

I'm happy with my Sword Expertise and Stun. My sword has life drain so I get surrounded, use Swirl Attack, they all get stunned, I get health, repeat. I haven't touched any elemental attacks. I figure that physical damage is less likely to be resisted than an elemental attack. I'm finally glad to see Identify as a skill and not a spell. Wisdom - If only I saw that one when I started playing. Haven't got a drop of it.

Wisdom will give you one, maybe two extra levels by the end of the game. Actually, depending on your level, not putting skill points into it right away doesn't make a huge difference. Wisdom - is it worth the skill points?

I liked Stun with a sword for my warrior.
Survivor's Instinct was just about the thing I needed for healing in the wastelands (I maxed it when I got there to use up some skill points).
Spellshield comes in handy fighting anything that uses poison. The damage comes off the shield, and you do not jerk around with a lowered attack / defense ability.

I'm having a slight logic problem with those two statements.

Burning Wall leaves a wall of energy behind you as you walk, and does lightning damage to monsters which walk into it. I found a spell book of this in Mardaneus' house; only used it a couple times, but it came in handy for going up against creatures a lot stronger than myself at the start of the game.

ok ok... diablo II washed my mind. not "fire" but "burning". you can use it like a barier and atack with meteor. or just wait. if there are many enemies you can do up to ~2000 or more damage at a cost about 10 mana.

Raze hehe

I didnt know that wisdom would add to your levels?

Maybe thats why i only ended up level 49 and others ended up higher?

I was tough but pretty dense lol

If this is so then i will have to try to be a smart fighter next time

Thanks Raze

Wisdom gives you an experience bonus when killing creatures or solving quests, so you level up slightly faster. Also killing things gives more experience at lower levels, while solving quests gives more at high levels. Most people do not get too much higher than that, maybe 51/52 by completing all quests, killing all hostile creatures and strategic use of the wishing well and the golden jug in the bee/wasp world to go up a level (the longer you wait, the more of an experience bonus this works out to).

wisdom rocks! i max it out as soon as it becomes available, you can get a decent lvl at the end of the game this way Im a warrior not only by name, but by nature, i only have one spell (elemental bolt) that does damage. i have a few others but these only add to my skill in battle with my sword

axis, i hope you're not confusing intelligent with wisdom. intellegence is a trait, wisdom is a passive skill under way of survivor
