As a warlock I almost never want to be using my weapons - Eldritch Blast is my "auto attack". Would love if left mouse click on an enemy would just blast 'em instead of trying to stab with a dagger.

Maybe this is an option and I just missed it, but it was a feel bad moment when I clicked on an enemy and ended up not only running towards them (to my horror) but running through fire in the process.

That makes sense and is a great suggestion. It makes sense that spellcasters should have at least one cantrip as a weapon set along with their melee and ranged weapons.

It would be cool to be able to change the buttons on the far left of the action bar, and have the leftmost one just be your default left click. Pretty sure I literally never used my weapon attack with my Wizard. It was always either Fire Bolt or Ray of Frost if I needed an attack that didn't take spell slots, exactly as you're saying.

Also, as Rogue, there seems to be literally no reason to use the default attack, unless I'm missing something. You can always at least attempt to sneak attack something. If you can't sneak attack it, you'll just do a normal attack with your main weapon. I pretty much never just left clicked something even with my Rogue.

Having a "Default Action" slot beside the current weapon attacks that we could drag things into would be great.

Rogues could place their Sneak Attack in there, Wizards/Sorcerers could drag Magic Missile at higher levels (Or whatever Cantrip you prefer), Warlocks with Eldritch Blast, etc. Hell, you could put thrown items/arrows in there too if you have a stack.

I was a little stunned honestly when I noticed Sneak Attack doesn't automatically apply (Why would it not?), but this could be a decent solution.

True, that's why cantrips have been made into caster's basic attacks in 5e in the first place... they even get their main attribute bonus on attack and damage rolls with spells for that reason. Physcial weapons shouldn't be caster's primary mode of attack.

That's why it especially problematic that - in addition to cantrips getting more damage dice with levels - Larian also gave those spells extra environmental effects.
