After killing the Bugbear Assassin my main character talked to Nadira. After some Persuasion she gave me the coin, the screen then blipped and she had exactly the same conversation with Gale, except she had no coin to give.

This happened to me, too, except she started the conversation again with Shadowheart. I chose different options, though, so it wasn't the exact same conversation. She still tried to give Shadowheart the coin she no longer had, but I only ended up with one in my inventory and there didn't seem to be any harm done. Was weird though.

Yeah, it happens 100% of the time for me. I think conversation should trigger automatically after battle ends but it isn't for some reason. Instead of that it triggers right after player initiated conversation ends with another nearby character.
With the same dialog choices second time she complaines that someone pickpocketed her or she's has coin no longer:

Same, Shadowheart was the second trigger for me.
