I know you can level up summoning dolls with the upgrade skill, but why don't our dolls get any experience during battle? I think that would be nice - since if we use them frequently we can upgrade their stats just like our regular characters. But without the skill point, perhaps?

Just a thought.

Welcome, gamedame!

Beyond Divinity has party experience and not individual experience. The entire party levels together. Also, having three times as many stat points and skill points coming in (assuming four summoning dolls) would be wildly overpowered.

The idea's not bad, but the game would need a lot of restructuring and balancing. The summoning dolls are currently an option, not a necessity.

true...

havent used my summoning dolls yet to be honest...just too underpowered , spend skills in own chars

i do have a question, is it normal that the dolls unsummon after 30 sec or so? or you have to train a skill to let them last longer
i hoped for them to be a mule, but dont last long enough

Actually that is all that I use my Summoning Dolls for - mules. I have one carrying a full load of potions so that if I run low, I can summon the doll and transfer more potions to my main character.

Also if you have saved a ton of loot to trade for some YIT charms you can summon all your dolls and load up 4-6 character inventories to have enough items to trade for those ~65000 gold charms.

It would be hard to gain much experience for a summoning doll, since if you move very far the doll vanishes.

omg

so if you put stuff in your dolls inventory, and he poofs away
and you summon him again later, he still has the items in his inventory?

daaaamn have been playing trough the game getting encumbered by potions all the time now
not using dolls

I found them extemely useless so far. They are weak, have no actual relevance to the story (except the one in act 3) and unsummon after a very short time. And I can't spare any skillpoints to upgrade them.

I haven't thought of the mule option, thanx!!! If the items stay in the inventory it would solve my battlefield item overload problem...
