I had an issue with the Aunty Ethel secondary fight (after you find the secret cave behind the fireplace). I started my characters in stealth after her dialogue and went to attack her to start combat. She registered the attack, and went to move towards the attacker, then stopped and went back to the spot she was. I then used the githyanki to hit her from melee with no response from her. She didn't heal, and I was able to kill her without ever triggering a second fight. I was a custom ranger, my party members being the cleric, the wizard, and the githyanki. I was able to trigger saving the girl, so it didn't break the progression, just allowed me to cheese the fight.

I had the same issue. The dialogue, cinematic, and combat initiated however Ethel didn't take any actions or make attacks. I could also move my characters freely (not turned based).

I managed to get all the way down to the girl in the cage without the Ethel fight triggering - released Maryana and now I can't even speak with her.

Do you remember what/where the fight trigger is?

I put the mask on to get through the illusion door - then unequipped before I got controlled then killed the dudes in the next room, then jumped my way down avoiding the acid clouds.

I listened to what she had to say, and then my character found the hidden entrance. When i entered is when Aunty Ethel turned violent and changed forms and summoned the redcaps. I killed those, then chased after her. Went through and looked at all the things she did to people, talking to the door to let me through (passed my check), before going and killing the 4 people in the next room. Instead of jumping down, i threw items on top of the gas plates to stop the gas from releasing. When i got to the fight area at the bottom is when she triggered yelling at me and cursing me. After that, the fight didn't trigger, but Aunty Ethel was there and i was able to kill her. I then freed the girl (who was ungrateful btw).

I just ran into this exact issue. I was able to rescue Mayrina without encountering Aunty Ethel and Mayrina doesn't say anything after being rescued.

Same issue here My headcanon pretents Auntie wasn't home, but yeah, the quest won't progress either Also jumped/fired my way through the poison gas until i reached the hut, could free Mayrina but she won't talk to me, the teleport at the end of the hut is also working.

The same issue here, no Auntireand a Mayrina that won't talk to me... and i cant end the quest..

and the same here. Tried AOE spells in case she was invisible as some have suggested, but nothing doing. Also reloaded from earlier save with no luck.

Same here. No Auntie at the end, can't be found with AoE and there's no vision cone for her when Stealthing.

The girl would not talk to me after i release her. Then i found auntie. I went full stealth and attack her. Combat did not start, she fled. I could easily kill her because she did nothing at all to my party. After she was dead i could talk to the girl and end the quest.

Found her! As you walk down down from the poison gas, facing the cage, she is on the short wooden bridge leading to the platform with the Control orb. Just hit platform with an AOE Spell such as Bane.

Nope. Not even when I restart from a previous save.

I think this bug begins when you decide how to talk to her and Mayrina before discovering the hidden path through the furnace. The first time I did this quest, I opted not to tell Mayrina about her brothers, therefore not making her angry at Auntie Ethel. I arrived at the bottom of the dungeon, Ethel was there but not aggressive, I killed her, freed Mayrina, looted everything and revived her undead husband. Got credit for completing the quest. The last 3 times i exposed Ethel to Mayrina by telling her about her dead brothers, and each one of those times by the time I arrive at the bottom of the dungeon Ethel is not there and Mayrina will not speak to you after releasing her. Essentially this breaks the quest chain logic preventing any option of finishing.

I can confirm that Ethel doesn't show up and Mayrina doens't speak when choosing to tell her about her brothers.

She bugged out twice for me. I think she bugged out because she spawned in the wrong location.

I realized I couldn't loot her, so I decided to face her again, at which point she bugged out like what the OP described:

I also tried to see if I can take her out ahead of time - or just DPS her down! I almost pulled it off too. I'm not sure if she could have had a frightened state or some other state that would force her to skip a turn but I didn't care enough to try it twice:

And yes when I faced her she was at full health so.. bummer, lol.

Edit: I did not have a problem with the quest itself. I gave the wand to her and, well, it was pretty funny what happened. In fact, it may not even be the end of that story line based on what happens with her husband-like-thing
