Speaking as a 25 year D&D vet and Baldur's Gate fan from the first day, but (sadly) not so much a fan of Larian brand of RPGs: Love it, so far. The environments and characters look great, the combat is... while slow... very engaging. Music and voice are up there (even if some riff on the classic BG Theme is sorely missing)... BUT: There is still a bit much Divinity in this BG game... not all of it is bad, mind you. The interactivity of the world will never be not cool as hell, but still, the game also suffers for it. First major point there:

UI: Aside the fact that TAB to draw weapons, and Left Alt to highlight interactible objects is an... interesting choice (can be rebound, no biggie), why is there basically NO interaction with character portraits? Rightclick to open the char sheet or inventory would be least that could be expected, right? Totally unintuitive! Also: There should be clearer indicators where on the field your party members are when they are not on screen.

Gameplay/Rules: It has been pointed out before, but where are the more advanced combat maneuvers? There is a dedicated button for dipping your weapon into something, but none to, say, grapple? Odd. Also, clearer indicators for enemies' AoO readiness and range would be nice. The rest is smaller stuff, like animal companions/familiars not staying beyond rest, only one short rest between long rests etc. All stuff that also has already been mentioned. By the by: Nice touch making Elves actually hold trance, very nice!

World and Lore: Oh boy, there are a few things right of the bet... I play a Seldarine Drow (?) Sacred Archer (Ranger), but not only do I appear to get the same - rather stereotypical "evil" Drow reactions in conversations (yea, I know, the whole good dark elves Stuff from the Sundering was retconned, but if anything, non Lloth worshippers should not have to behave like "typical" Drow) I also didn't get to choose a deity?
Also: About Lae'zel... speaking rather good common there, aren't we? wink Also also: No Silversword? Boo! I mean, sure, it would have been taken from her no doubt, but it should be findable inside the Nautiloid somewhere, right?

Presentation/small stuff: Hovering weapons on the characters back? In 2020? Seriously? Come on!

That's it for now... time to play some more Baldur's Gate: Original Sin. wink
