Sooo.. My husband and I have been looking forward to this game forever. Even better when it said it was Co-op via Online or LAN.

Much to our disappointment we dont get to play our toons together. We both created characters and played through the very beginning (prologue?). Actually got an invite to go through. BUT!! when i joined his game it wasn't with my character. I was controlling one of the "origin" characters in the party.

We would much rather play the characters we created together..

Had this happen with my son as well when we started our LAN game. We had to back out and he hosted, and I joined him prior to starting the game. After the opening cutscene, we both created our characters and proceeded from there. Unfortunately, there was no way to Import a character from singleplayer yet into an existing game.

You have to hit multiplayer, then create a lobby and then invite them. Then hit launch once they are in that lobby. That's how it worked for me and my gf on steam for Online co-op. No idea LAN works differently.

oooh.. Thank you guys! We will definitely try this tomorrow.

The other suggestion we had after playing today. Having the non host being able to pick which origin character they play and/or allowing the non host to control more than one in combat. Examples - if i hosted and he played in my game. he would HATE playing the cleric which is my only choice when i play on his lobby. The other example - he has to control 3 people will i twiddle my thumbs waiting to play one.

Yup Divine Divinity worked the same way.

NOT intuitive and highly annoying. But once you know how to go there you are.

Speaking of that, I'd like to be able to "name" the game - so that I don't have to endlessly hand type the name of my "campaign" or panic when I'm not sure which save was which campaign.

You can also change which companion is being controlled by which character. In the game, hit Esc, then "session", then you can put a companion in another persons control. Don't think you can change the MAIN character that you made though, as that's your "Avatar". Maybe you can though, haven't tried it.

OKay. Got our multiplayer game going. Having an issue with controlled chars.

Hubby talked to shadow heart and she joined with him. But when i switch the cleric to my group she doesnt get any skills. its almost like an "observer" role. How do we change this?

***EDIT*** figured this one out. We had to restart the game and when i loaded back in i had the cleric.

Also. Does anyone know how to fix the black screen. Its happened twice; once to each of us. One of us will do something to trigger a cutscene while the other person is already trying to interact. It blanks out the screen and cant figure out how to fix. other than reloading or restarting the game

Sorry guys, i didn't understand how "Import a character from singleplayer yet into an existing game." as it was said.

I followed the instructions :
"You have to hit multiplayer, then create a lobby and then invite them. Then hit launch once they are in that lobby. That's how it worked for me and my gf on steam for Online co-op. No idea LAN works differently."

It seems the normal way to make a multiplayer game...
So i hit multiplayer, then create lobby, invite my friend, then launch once in the lobby, but... what should happen like that ? We just arrive at the character creation screens...

Can someone try to explain me ?
