I think it would be fun to allow an 'unknown/custom' option for deity choices, to allow for non-canonical inserts to allow for more rp. I would also like to be able to state a name for that deity.
One of the most fun things about creating characters, imo, is the backstory/motivations. Sometimes my characters don't follow the standard religions of dnd. For example, in a dnd campaign I'm running with friends, the cleric is a mormon.
I think it would be fun to allow for a 'custom' option that doesn't affect the story too much, beyond allowing memes. If people want to have a flying spaghetti monster cleric, why not let them?
