So I have tried to pick this book up repeatedly and the dialogue just stops. There is no option to hit anything it just stops on the last person who says something. Doesn't matter even if you're alone in the room and you have your party outside. still does not let progress. Thoughts? Comments? Answers? Bugs? lol

I said this on a similar post but will repeat it here. after pressing tab and alt and a few other keys in frustration while clicking around were I thought the dialogue box should be it finally showed up for me. unfortunately I'm not sure what actually made it happen but it gave me the option to put the book away or drop it.

I had the same problem, and there are many bugs in that area.

Just as a quick note, I have noticed some instances where cutscenes/dialog options won't move forward. Pressing the space bar during a conversation will skip it to the next, so ive been able to fix some of the issues that way.
As another side note, any issues I've had with picking up items off the ground (books especially), if you hold Left Alt it will show the book and you can left click to automatically pick it up without needing to bring up the right click menu (read, pick up, examine, etc)

The left alt helps on this book and then you can read it from your inventory at your leisure (or outside this bugging area, atleast)

Oh good suggestions. I'll give them a shot on this and let you know how it works out.
