The cantrip Ray of Frost seems to be causing consistent knockdown effect when it hits, for me, despite nothing mentioned in the description. This make the spell too powerful for its level.

It's not the cantrip effect per say. I guess it's more like a dex fail check on a small pool of ice, no?

Yeah, it's surface effects created by cantrips. So you can miss the spell, create the ice under them, and then they have a dex roll they have to pass or they fall down. I think it's stupid but whatever.

Which, again, makes a cantrip more powerful than a first level spell...

i think, they should restore cantrips as they are in the TT.
it's a nice idea with those aoe effects, but i would change it, so that only 1st level and above spells, can change the terrain.
so it costs resources, to pull something cool off. it makes it more rewarding to be creative.
