Perhaps this can't be answered until the patch is finalized, but out of curiosity...
Lar mentioned that the path to hoseage is to have upgraded to (or started with) 1.4, saved a game under that version, then upgraded to 1.41 (and presumably saved game(s) under that version).
So, once 1.42 is out, if you are someone who did the above, is it recommended that you load in your last 1.4 (or earlier) save, and begin playing from there? Or, on the other hand, will it be safe to load in those screwy 1.41 saves that were upgraded from 1.4?

I took the "path to hoseage" (started a game at 1.40 and upgraded to 1.41) and had no problems whatsoever with BF traders or weird item names (though I have a showstopper CTD on act change)
I have already started from scratch thrice (basically once at each patch release), each time from the very end of act 1. And I am getting very annoyed. I hope that I can keep playing with my 1.41 saves upon upgrading because that's the only ones I have. I am not restarting.

Did you keep some skill points to put in "Survival => Software => Update", with 1 skill points you already can patch to 1.32 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Well, 1.42 is up on the website now, and the readme file for the patch actually answers my question (and more). Thx

Only one I haven't tried yet is summons. I can exit Battlefields, items respawn with correct names and I can hear lots of music i've never heard play before (lots of tracks).

I could be wrong, but what I think Yann meant is that nothing bad beyond what's already bad would happen. ie, if you started playing with 1.40, then upgraded to 1.41, then you're in bad shape, but you're not going to be in worse shape by upgrading to 1.42. Still, you're in bad shape. That's just my impression from reading the various posts etc.
