I have played D&D P&P off/on since 1984, as well as nearly every D&D computer game that's ever come out. The Baldur's Gate's games have always been my benchmark for other games.
Over the years I have gotten burned buying games that sounded perfect, but were lousy. And, in my experience, the larger the download, the worse they were.
While I am a fan of D&D, and a huge fan of Baldur's Gate, I am leary of spending US $60, and spending a day or so downloading a game that I might hate.
I have been checking out reviews and YouTube videos since early access started. While the reviews are about the same as those that almost every game gets, which make reviews useless, the Early Access videos on YouTube have been a bit mixed in my opinion. While the character creation seems to be excellent, the gameplay seems to be a bit strange. Not because of the turn base style, but something I can't quite put my finger on.
As to the title: Any Possibility of a Demo Version?
I know folks who've laid out the US $60 wouldn't agree, but if possible, a demo with the character creation, a small area to explore, and only a few days to a week of gameplay would be very helpful in deciding to purchase it, or not.
I am retired, and play games on my computer pretty much 24/7. I can't afford to waste money on something I may end up hating.
I really, REALLY, want to play Baldur's Gate III, but the more I want to play it, the more worried I am.
