Looks like summoning dolls still aren't working quite right. First of all, the stats on my doll have locked. No matter what I equip, its stats remain the same. Encumberance is also hard to change.

When items in the doll's inventory are left-clicked, either the game ignores the click or the game crashes.

Also, bone spear "rings" and similar items are still generating on the ground in Act I Battlefield II.

I'm going to send in my save for analysis soon, and hopefully we can get this resolved.

EDIT: Some bottles of ale/beer sound like meat when moved around.

check and see if its a drag and drop problem or a click in the inventory on the item problem. i had a similar issue with 1.32, and the drag and drop method failed to update the stats for all items, but the click in the inventory did update stats for almost everything except the rings.

Tried both. Nothing's updating for me. What's interesting is the stats match what they were when I first equipped my doll and unsummoned it. If I didn't know any better, I'd say there's a problem saving and restoring the dolls data every time it's summoned.

How's this?
In act 2 My character turned into God, so I bit the bullet and downloaded 1.42.
First everything seemed good.....an omen to be sure...then when down near the chest southeast of town, everytime I died, it would lock up on reloading. If I used the save game before the last, before I got to the area with the chest, no problem. I managed around that one but when I went to retrieve my mushroom potion from my summoning doll mule, instant crash...........ARRRGHHHHHH!!!!!

For those with crashing summoning dolls => can you please, tell me which one causes it?
All 3/4?
The one from Act 1? Or Act 2? Or Act 3? Or Act 4?

I'm asking this, cause the 3rd doll (Anlokam) remained in the inventory until version 1.2 - in version 1.3 she vanished at the end of Act 3 (seems more logical to me according to the story)

Another thing => from which patch version was the summ doll originally, causing the crash in 1.42 later on?

I understand frustration - but maybe tracking down the prob (as there are so many patches now - and probably different save game versions...) could help to solve?

for me its the doll from act one that causes the game to crash.

In 1.40 (I am pretty sure) and 1.41, the first 2 summoning dolls would crash my game in act 2 and at the start of 3. Loading a 1.3 save into 1.42, both dolls worked fine, though the pair of leather leggings my skeleton was wearing disappeared, and he had a permanent 30 weight with an empty inventory.

skeleton from act 1.

game crashed after i installed 1.41 and also after installing 1.42.
thankfully the pyramids work.
the skeleton worked in 1.32. don't know about 1.4 as i never played with that version. also, i liked the inventory filters, but anyway.

this is during act 2. i started the game in 1.32, got the summoning doll, then moved to act 2. in act 2, imp village, after necromancer quest, i upgraded to 1.41. summoning doll crashed the game. today, i bumped to 1.42, and the summoning doll still crashed the game. this after doing several permutations of uninstall, reinstall, after first backing up the saved games from 1.32.
i installed 1.0, patched to 1.32, then copied games back, then patched to 1.42.
that failed. so i uninstalled and started again. installed to 1.0, patched to 1.32, copied back 1.32 saves, patched to 1.4, then 1.41, then 1.42, then tried again. same crash. before patching though i cleared the dolls inventory so the Ego and DK characters have everything. of course another issue has occured. while ego was encumbered, i was shuffling stuff around, and then seeing i had enough equipment moved tried to make the weight icon leave by lifting his belt and putting it back on, something that seemed necessary after 1.32 patch. when i put the belt on, it vanished because he was still encumbered. i can find it nowhere.

Ok, please take heed => I loaded a German version save 1.3 into the English version 1.42 - I summoned all 3 dolls =>
no crash, they stand there and are good little kids
I saved this. I quit the game and reloaded => no crash, my dolls are there and still good little kids.

My German save was from the end of Act 2 => 1.3. I saved it there to English 1.42.

Another thing => what I saw in an English save (thanks, Grim) is NOT in the German one I mentioned above => my rings weigh 6 and my amulets still 12.

Strange is this => I had a German save 1.3 and loaded it into 1.4 (English). This all was then copied into a new game (I have 4 different versions now on my PC) => weight was already strange there. And these saves were then made into 1.42 => strange weight. => amulets/rings are too heavy.

Now, what went wrong in both cases? Why are my German saves from 1.3 ok in the English one 1.42? German version never had 1.32, so I don't know exactly from which version on something's going wrong.

I got the summoning doll crash after going from 1.4 to 1.42. Before that I only had problems with the inventory of the summoning doll. This problem seems to be going downhill

this is all well and good, but how does that help with the fact that on english 1.4x the summoning dolls crash. this apparently from 1.4 to 1.41. i would appreciate a fix at some point thanks. i rather enjoy using the fella. it is rather useful. especially if you boost the summoning doll special upgrades options, to give them skills. nevermind the mule/portable hole use.

i have started a new game in 1.42 to see if the issue persists on a new game for the skeleton summoning doll. this is the only one i have in the first game, and the first game is at act 2. i haven't yet, on the new game, gotten the doll, or escaped act 1.

If I understood Raze correctly, his dolls work on 1.3 (or was it 1.32?) to 1.42 - and mine, too. This might help the Larians to find the prob faster, Everyman?

I dunno, comparing value algo... somethings then? I just have the hope, they can track + fix faster, if exact info is given. I'm sure, you'd like to continue playing with proper dolls, hm?

Rings I find in Act 3 on 1.42 => have strange weight though (68 and more). The ones I brought over don't.

i assume your referring to a post he made somewhere else on this forum.. so why bring it up here?

also your `!!1` at the end of your message suggests you typed in anger (typing so fast and full of rage you forgot that your finger wasnt on the shift key anymore). if indeed you are getting angry at text messages on your computer monitor then i suggest you go outside more.

A workaround of the stats problem on the dolls is to access their inventory by first starting from the inventory of one of the heros.
for example : Open inventory of DK, click in it to arrive to the Doll, unequip and reequip an item and you should, or move an object from the inventory and then you should see the changes again.

The stuck stats often occurs when you just summoned it and enter his inventory by clicking on doll and opening his own inventory ( you can open 1 inventory window by hero/doll )

At least it's what i could see by myself

there are definitely issues with weight on jewelry items that need correcting. they shouldn't weigh more than fruit or bread, ever. but some are weighing as much as a suit of armor hehe

i see where you were going with your train of thought now. hopefully that will lead to a correction relatively soon so i can use the skeleton again. right now he's shelved, and i continue to play my old game. i started a new game to see if the problem occurs with the summoning doll originating from this version.

i'm happy to report the pyramids work fine. although i'm bummed that the fancy little teleport swirl effect is gone *pout*

the issue for the skeleton doll is worse. summoning the doll crashes the game.
thankfully i had the foresight to back up my save games, so i went back to 1.32 after the crash, stripped the skeleton of everything, and resaved and repatched. i shelved the skeleton for now, the rest of the game is working fine apart from some minor weight bugs with items like rings being so heavy as armor that you have to be Superman to wear it and journey onward with no encumbrance.
