Larian Studios Forums Baldur's Gate III Baldur's Gate III - Technical & Gameplay Problems I have a noob question

I cannot get to the control room to even begin the story. I assume I have to jump over a gap in the floor but I am told that it is either too far or not enough room. I have found two rooms and, I think, have fully explored them. What am I hung up on?

It's been an hour so you probably figured it out, but here goes:

You are likely missing the mechanism that activates the elevator in the second room.

Use Left-Alt (by default) to highlight some of the more prominent actionable objects.

When you've become stuck at a certain place, try opening the journal and checking the objectives. If you're aware of the objectives and stuck in the area, try changing your perspective or angle of camera. Definitely check the mini-map if you become frustrated at which direction to head next- and remember that Mouse Wheel Up/Down will zoom the mini-map as well.

Thanks, I gave up and went to play another game. But now I have an idea. Another issue I found is that it is difficult to find threads I have started to see if anyone has answered. I can't just checkmark it as mine and go straight to it.

If you click your name on the forums and go to "Followed Lists", then click "Followed Threads", threads you made should be there. Unless you specifically unchecked that box when making the post.
