Is there a better way to report bugs, suggest feedback etc than to open a new thread here or post in one of the pinned threads?

Because if no, I can never be sure if someone else hasn't already reported a bug or made a suggestion... I am used to (the very minimalistic system) GitHub uses, where you have bug reports, can close issues easily, have some nice feddback buttons like +1, love etc. This would be a great improvment for anyone reporting bugs I feel like, because it is unfeasible to go through all threads here in the forum.

GitHub also provides other very useful features like mentioning other issues. I feel like an empty github repository just to track bugs and collect feedback would be amazing!

Thanks for the great game! I enjoy it thoroughly and would love to help track bugs! smile

+1 to this! If we're gonna be in EA for a year or more... those of us who genuinely want to be good playtesters probably need some better tools for bug reporting, collating data on feedback etc.

And some guidelines around what is in scope for changes, and what may not be due to technical constraints or irreversible design choices. So that we're not wasting everyone's time banging on about things that can't actually be changed for release.

I agree, this all does seem a little weird. I think the strangest is that there's no sticky or anything, at least that I've seen, which goes over guidelines on making a bug report.

Seeing something like that, to give people a bit of a template so everyone can be more thorough with their reports, as well as a verified "known issues" list so you don't have to worry if what you're saying is already well known or not would be very comforting.

There are a lot of things I haven't even bothered mentioning because they happen so much I figure they're well covered already, but to be completely honest I don't even know if that's true. There have also been things I thought seemed so obvious to report, but couldn't find any search results for!

Not to be too negative, but it makes it feel like the feedback isn't taken that seriously, because everything seems so unofficial. Even most of the stickies seem unofficial.

yeah I have been discouraged to report any bugs because (a) I just can't wade through all the content in the forums and there's so many new therads opening up all the time (b) honestly, an old-school forum just like this is just not up to the task and (c) I have no idea if that issue has already been reported (probably), or is on any internal Larian tracker, or anything really. Just having a GitHub-style issue list and really collaboration would be so great (sense of pride and accomplishment for the EA participants right? wink )

I suppose we could have an inofficial community empty GitHub repo? Maybe Larian will officially take it over at some point? laugh

Deeply agree!
This would make your and our work on Feedback much easier.
The tools are out there and could be setup in no-Time.

I actually just whipped up a public empty GitHub repo with some issue templates (BUG, FEATURE REQUEST and GENERAL DISCUSSION) to preview how something like this could look like:

https://github.com/rfuzzo/BG3-Community-Issue-Tracker/issues

If anyone wants to contribute feel free, I'm looking into how participation without a gitHub account could look like. not sure if possible.
If anything its a preview of how an official bugtracker for the public could look like smile
