Larian Studios Forums Beyond Divinity (English) Technical Problems Game crashes when exiting barracks.....

On the level where you meet Samuel before he is summoned out, there is an exit that you get a key for when you defeat the Deathknights in Samuels lair. Whenever I exit the level, the game crashes. The first time I got a message saying that BD has encountered a problem and will shut down. The second time the game shut down and went to my desktop. What gives?

Just FYI. After I did all the quests on that level (gay cook's book, merchant's book, etc.), I put on my regular armor and killed everyone for XP. Could this be the problem? Hope someone can help. I cant continue the game.

where was the surgeon's book anyway? (he wasn't a cook.)

Oops, I meant the gay doctor. The book is in the arena down a level. The arena is on the level where you start the game. The book is in the left cell and left of the hay stack there. It is hard to see so zoom in. It is easy to get that way.

Run the configuration program and switch to 640x480 until getting past the cut scene at the end of act 1. You may also want to first install the 1.42 patch if you have not done so already.

good to know. since i was impatient to go to act 2 and on an experience point hunt, after completing all the quests but that one, i took off the citadel guard armor and proceeded to slaughter everyone. .:heh:.
so, now being in act two, i'll have to remember that one for later.

I have the same problem. I can't exit chapter one by the stairs or by blowing the forge. And switching to 640x480 does nothing. I had no problem the first time I played the game. My mistake was restarting to try finishing more of the quests in chapter one. My first game had no game stopping bugs up to where I restarted. Had to restart 3 times just to get to the end of chapter one since. Now I can't get any further. My only hope is the 1.42 patch I'm downloading now.

Oh, and I killed everyone the first time I finished chapter one and I got to chapter 2 no problem.

i have a problem thats sort of related to this..

my game doesnt crash on exiting the barracks. BUT the cutscene ends prematurely (the DK is talking about wanting to see the paladin... and then it stops and the new section appears)
