Damn, damn, hot damn. Wow, just wow.
(minor spoiler)
As I was looking for a way to bypass the goblin party after slaughtering everyone in the ruins, I tried the other way,
, which was a bad idea (I didn't know I could just fast travel away lol).
So, while I was still in
, I made camp, and called it a day.
A lengthy cutscene ensued, then talking to every companion, you know how it is.
Slept, packed-up my stuff and BAM, the minotaurs had already seen us.
The last save was ages ago, and I thought "why just not roll with it?"
It took a good couple of tries, but distracting, sneaking, fleeing, healing, hexing, paralysing would not have worked if I didn't manage to shut the portcullis in the last turn, barring the minotaurs outside.
A poor rpg would have either removed the lever after its first use or just said "can't do this in combat, sorry".Just as it seemed like they would give up (since they skipped a turn) and simply wait there growling as we scuttled away...
A poor rpg would just have them glitch through the gate. The minotaurs decided to
attack the portcullis and almost brought it down.
Thankfully, as each of my companions managed to slip through the hatch, the last one even closing the doors before entering the hatch, it was all over.
A poor rpg would say "can't leave the area while in combat".What a rollercoaster of emotions and mini heart attacks.
Thank you, Larian, for making a real rpg that lets you live the fantasy experience. It took 2 hours, but it's better than any cinematic or videogame thrill I've had in years.
